We used Groomes as our wedding venue including staying 2 nights with some of our bridal party. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for, absolutely beautiful countryside surroundings, the most hidden little secret place. Pete was so accommodating to all of our crazy ideas ensuring that everything was orchestrated to a tee including amazing ideas and suggestions that we didn’t even know we wanted. Pete, Ed and the team were so helpful in the lead up, and throughout the day, no job was too big - they couldn’t do enough for us. Every single one of our guests said how amazing the venue was, how well the day went and what a perfect and fun wedding it was! So thrilled, thank you so much for the best day ever 😊

We stayed here for our friends wedding back in May. Wonderful place to get married 💕 we had a beautiful room. Breakfast was delicious.Pete and Jane the hosts and their family did a fantastic job looking after us all.We also came home with a beautiful puppy 🐶

Beautiful property owned by beautiful people. Was here as a guest of a wedding and felt like family by the time we left. Pete and Jane did an phenomenal job hosting and making sure nothing was left in thought of.

We booked out Groomes the night before my wedding. The place is lovely and has such quiet serene grounds. Pete (the owner) is such a character and we very much enjoyed his company. He made everyone feel welcome and had some of the guests in stitches. We had dinner in the evening which was lovely, and breakfast in the morning was handled well considering everyone was eating at different times between hair and makeup and generally running around like headless chickens. Would definitely come back! Thanks again for a great stay.

 Verified Fabulous stay for a large,mixed generational group of family and friends.
Absolutely fantastic time , with the hosts, Pete and Jane, being very accommodating and communicative . The house and grounds are just lovely and provided a base for family and friends to stay and enjoy my daughters wedding nearby . The accommodation was so clean , the kitchen so large and well equipped ,with the outdoor Coach house and garden room being just perfect for us to lounge and eat in ,as we had a gloriously sunny weekend .  Verified Perfect hen party location
Came for a hen do in June and had the best time ever. There were 14 of us and there was plenty of space for us all in the very generously sized and beautifully finished bedrooms. The outdoor space really made it, the weather was beautiful which meant we spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the stunning views. There is an outdoor covered/ sheltered dining area that comfortably fit us all in, with outdoor fridge and bbq. The accommodation is set up perfectly for group parties with outdoor lighting and speaker system, along with the hottub. The hosts are super welcoming and accommodating (and have very cute dogs)! I would definitely recommend to other hen groups or any large groups, really lovely home for the weekend.

 Verified A hidden gem
I spent last weekend in this beautiful house, celebrating a friend's birthday. We were looking for somewhere that would accommodate up to 8 couples and additional guests for the Saturday night. We could not have found anywhere more perfect for this. All the bedrooms were big all with ensuites. The kitchen was big and had everything we needed to cook for 18 people. A cosy snug room, where some guests sat and enjoyed the football. A games room with a pinball machine, pool table and table football. The garden room is a real treat, and we made full use of this with a singer and dj afterwards. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. In the run up to the event, Pete the owner could not be more helpful. Any questions I had, he answered promptly and even gave me ideas and contacts for Private chefs and murder mystery companies. We went ahead and booked the murder mystery for the Saturday night. This venue worked so well for this. He also arranged for me to view the house prior to our visit, which was so helpful for organizing the weekend. This venue is ideal for getting friends and families together to celebrate an event or to just get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax. The grounds are beautiful, and sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset was a real treat. We also had a couple of dogs with us for the weekend and I think they enjoyed the house and grounds as much as we did. Thank you Pete and Jane for making our weekend so memorable.

 Verified Absolutely fantastic
I recently rented this place for my birthday, and a group of friends (with children). Late 30s/40s. Pete and Jane Absolutely incredible people. So accommodating to our needs and requirements. Ensure that all the rooms had adequate beds and even gave up their own apartment for us to give us more space. Friday we had 10 people, huge dining room and food experience. Saturday we had a murder murder mystery, 2 singers then a DJ till early hours. In the Garden room. Which is setup nicely for that space. Around 25 people. Sunday we had again around 12 people but just a leasuirly Sunday. Every day Pete had checked and refilled the hot tub, before any of us had even woke. The house and grounds are amazing. The owners were so accommodating. Even lending us their sonos speaker system as we couldn't get ours registered to their WiFi. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. The rooms a large roomy and and Pete and Jane setup additional day beds to allow alot more people to stay. Incredible people and place. Will definitely be returning in the summer to use the outdoor space more

 Verified Perfect Wedding
When searching for a venue for our wedding reception, Groomes came as a wonderful surprise. Tucked away from the main road, most locals don't know about it. It's a beautiful country house with wonderful views, especially for a sunset. With 6 rooms, we were able to have immediate family stay with us after the reception. The large garden space catered for a marquee for us, in case of adverse weather, with plenty spare for the kids to play in. There's a games room and conservatory for those staying there for a holiday, as well as small coach house and hot tub outside. Pete and Jane were fantastic. Pete was great coordinating and helping discuss through options and providing advice and recommendations prior to the day. Both of them, and their team worked hard on the day (& the breakfast the morning after). We felt at home, and Groomes was complimented by many, as was our wedding day, which Pete & Jane helped make so perfect for us.

 Verified High end quality accommodation & the warmest welcome
Pete & Jane are the most welcoming & accommodating hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is beautifully appointed with high end fixtures you’d be delighted to have at home.  Verified ‘Twas the night before ...
A wedding ... my daughter’s wedding! The Bridal party spent the night before the wedding at Groomes. We were welcomed by Pete and Jane and were fed and watered to a very high standard. Pete communicated before asking me what my daughter wanted for her last meal!! I responded with various dietary needs and he managed them! He provided his Jaguar to get the bridesmaids to thy event and then in heavy rain drove the bride to the wedding! Pete went above and beyond for us! He even ended up bringing a suitcase we had left behind to the wedding so we had our belongings the night of the wedding!
